Using Offline Mode in the One Big Green App

Offline Mode is designed to help you stay productive and protect your work, even when your mobile signal isn’t reliable. Whether you're starting your day in an underground parking garage or working in a rural area, the app will now support you through spotty or non-existent connections.

This article walks you through how Offline Mode works, where to find it in the app, and what to keep in mind while using it.

📲 What Is Offline Mode?

Offline Mode allows the app to continue functioning when your device temporarily loses its internet connection.

While some features will still be limited, you’ll be able to:

  • Access your visit schedule and job details

  • View display information

  • Log service activities

  • Submit notes or requests

The most critical changes or updates you make while offline are safely stored in your device’s local cache and will be synced automatically once your connection is restored.

🗓️ Offline Data: What’s Available Without Signal

When you’re connected to the internet, the app automatically downloads data for the next two dates when you have scheduled visits.

This includes:

  • Your visit schedule

  • Service site information

  • Display and extras data

You can check what days are currently saved for offline access by going to the Offline Data section in the main menu.

Tip: We recommend opening the app at the start of each day while connected to a strong signal, just to be sure your schedule is up to date.

📝 Saved Actions: Keeping Track of Your Work

While you’re working offline, the app will save the most critical actions you take into the Saved Actions section.

This includes:

  • All your timestamps:

    • Starting and finishing the working day

    • Starting and finishing the visits

    • Breaks and commute

  • All your geofencing marks

  • Your service reports and the notes you make

  • Your newly submitted replacement requests

These actions are stored on your device and automatically sent to the Back Office once you’re back online. Once uploaded, the Saved Actions list will clear itself.

⚠️ Important Notes About Offline Mode

  • Offline Mode is a safety net, not a full replacement of the app's full cloud-based functionality. Some features, such as uploading display photos or accessing full site history, will not work without a connection.

  • Frequent switching between weak online and offline states can be less reliable than fully working offline. If your connection is unstable, it may be better to turn mobile data off temporarily and let the app collect everything offline until you're back in a stable zone.

  • To save phone storage, downloaded data is cleared regularly, so check your Offline Data if you’re planning to work in a low-signal location.
