Onboarding your company into One Big Green doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With the right shortcuts, you can start scheduling visits, tracking time, and collecting visit reports in just a few days - while adding details at your own pace.
Here’s how to approach onboarding in two clear steps, with helpful video guides along the way.
Setting Up Sites and Services
When you’re moving your entire portfolio:
The fastest method is to import your sites and services via a spreadsheet. Upload a file with site names, addresses, and service types, and OBG will create the accounts in bulk, so you can start assigning sites to your technicians and collecting the time records from day one.

When you’re adding just a few new accounts:
Suppose it's only about a couple of new sites that you're adding to your existing portfolio. In that case, manually entering the information in the Back Office will definitely be quicker and easier than preparing a spreadsheet.
Simply click the "Add service site" and "Add service" buttons, and fill in the fields - it's really intuitive!
⏩ Pro Tip: Start lean
If you are really short on time, we have another useful tip for you. Enter only the essentials first - site names, addresses, and services. That’s already enough to start assigning technicians, scheduling visits, and tracking technicians' time. And later, when you have more time, you can enrich your records with details like access instructions, parking notes, or the water source information using the bulk update method.

Adding Displays
When you have reliable records of your displays:
If this is the case, the spreadsheet import will definitely be the fastest way to get the data in. It allows you to not only create the displays, but also record the plants and planters right away.

When your records are incomplete or outdated:
With our new customers, we see it more often than not.
But don't worry - you can still move fast using one of these methods:
Back Office picture import: Upload field photos and let OBG automatically create displays from images.
Technician app entry: Send a technician to log displays onsite, instantly capturing the location, notes, and photos.

⏩ Pro Tip: Don’t wait for perfection
If you want to get up and running as soon as possible, skip perfectionism and create display placeholders with just a name and photo - either via spreadsheet import or via picture import. This immediately enables you to start collecting visit reports and replacement requests (since replacements are tied to displays). Later, fill in plant and planter details using either the export–update–reimport method or manual editing.

The Bottom Line
By combining lean data entry with OBG’s import and update tools, you can be up and running in days, not weeks. Start small - names, addresses, photos - and add details as you go. This approach keeps your operations moving, avoids costly delays, and ensures your data stays accurate.
