Introducing the Routing Pilot Program

At last - a data-driven routing solution designed specifically for interiorscaping.

Routing in our industry isn’t just point A to point B. It's more like A, then D, unless there’s a road block - in which case go to G - and don't forget that B needs a bilingual tech skilled in living walls before noon.

Traditional routing tools? They don’t get it.

They assume you’re delivering boxes, not balancing plant health, technician skills, and building access policies.

So, we built something different.

How the Program Works

Over the past year, we’ve been quietly developing a custom routing and scheduling concept designed specifically for interiorscaping - based on real-world feedback, daily logistics, and all the complexity that makes this work so dynamic.

Our approach combines four advanced, interconnected models - all built to reflect the way interiorscaping actually works in the field:

  • Smart Technician-to-Site Matching

We look at both sides of the equation: what your service sites need (visit frequency, access type, service types) and what your techs can offer (skills, locations, schedules). Then we find the best fit - not just the closest.

  • Multi-Modal Travel Planning

Not every technician drives a van all day. Some walk. Some take public transit. Others park centrally and cover a cluster of buildings on foot. Our model can handle all of that - and suggest the best combination for each day.

  • Route Optimization Based on Real-World Variables

What’s the most efficient order to visit sites? We take into account traffic patterns, time windows, and even local quirks. It’s about more than mileage - it’s about flow.

  • Team Continuity with Built-In Humanity

Your technicians are not a commodity. They build relationships with clients, learn site nuances, and carry the face of your brand. That’s why our model includes logic to minimize unnecessary reassignments, preserving consistency while still achieving optimal travel time and cost. We aim to support both operational efficiency and the human connections that make your service stand out.

We believe this combination could be a game-changer - helping interiorscaping companies reduce costs, keep teams happy, and run smoother routes.

But before we incorporate it fully into One Big Green, we want to test it with real teams, in real cities, under real conditions.

What We Want to Achieve

Our goal is simple: prove the algorithm works in the wild - across geographies, team sizes, and operating models.

We’ve built this tool with feedback from interiorscapers around the world - from the rolling hills of the Scottish Highlands to the bustling streets of NYC.

We want to make sure it works just as well for:

  • Small, tightly knit field teams

  • Multi-city operations with hundreds of techs

  • Companies that walk their routes

  • Companies that rely on vans or transit

  • …and everyone in between

To do that, we’re looking for 5–10 pilot partners who are excited to be part of something new - and get a competitive edge powered by the most modern technologies.

The Pilot Timeline

Here’s how things will unfold:

  • Application Phase – We’ll collect and review submissions from interested companies.

  • Participant Selection – We’ll choose a diverse group and organize them into tiers based on team size and complexity.

  • Pilot Rounds – We’ll run 2–3 rounds of testing, refining the algorithm each time using your feedback and operational data.

  • Wrap-up – Once the tool consistently delivers excellent results across the board, you’ll get the most optimal routes before anyone else, while we’ll start the next chapter on rolling the new algo into One Big Green.

You’ll be involved at every step - as your feedback directly shapes the tool.

This isn’t just a test drive. It’s a co-creation.

What’s the Cost?

To help cover a portion of the development and support work, we’re asking for a symbolic fee of $5 per service site.

But - and this is important - every dollar you spend becomes a credit you can use toward your One Big Green subscription, valid for 12 months.

That means:

  • The pilot is essentially risk-free

  • You’ll get your most optimal routes as early as the routing engine is finalized, and for much less than you would have to pay to a decent data scientist

  • And when this routing algo becomes a part of the OBG, you can keep using it for free using your credits – along with all the other “goodies” One Big Green has to offer - visit reporting, replacement workflows, inventory, and many more

Already an OBG customer? Even better!

This offer applies to you too, and you can use your pilot credits towards the subscription cost you are paying anyway.

We’re so very grateful for your trust, so we want to make this opportunity even sweeter for you!

What You’ll Need to Contribute

If you’re selected for this exciting pilot, here’s how we’ll team up:

  • Secure Your Data: We’ll start with an NDA to ensure your data is handled with the utmost care and confidentiality.

  • Get to Know You: We’ll have a friendly, in-depth chat about your current routing methods, specific needs (like unique constraints or priorities), and what optimal routing looks like for you. For example, some companies want to cut total travel distance, while others focus on reducing travel time - and we’ll tailor the algorithm to your goals!

  • Share Your Data: We’ll make it easy with simple forms to collect your service account addresses, technician details, and matchmaking preferences.

  • See the Magic Happen: Our data science wizards will crunch the numbers and deliver customized, optimized routes in a clear, easy-to-use table format. Need tweaks? No problem - we’ll do up to two free recalculations based on your updated inputs.

  • Put It to Work: Use these tailored routes in your daily operations and let us know how they’re working!

Do You Need to Be a One Big Green Customer?

Nope, not at all!

This pilot program is open to everyone, whether you’re new to One Big Green or not.

We’re testing the algorithm independently, but we’d love for you to explore everything OBG has to offer - like streamlined visit reporting, replacement management, issue tracking, and many more.

That’s why we’re including those credit vouchers with your pilot participation. Use them to dive into the full OBG platform for free and see how it can transform your business.

Help us perfect this algorithm, and we’ll help you level up your operations – with no strings attached!

Think your routes are costing you more than they should?
You’re probably right.

We’re not here to sell you something off-the-shelf.

We’re building something with you - something that actually works for the way your team moves through the world.

This is your chance to shape the future of plantscaping routing and help your company save big on traveling costs and working hours as soon as possible.
